The British Society of Clinical Hypnosis (BSCH) is a British professional body whose aim is to promote and assure high standards in the practice of hypnotherapy. IN 2007, the society opened a new chapter to welcome graduates and students from other parts of the world who are committed to high standards of practice and training.
Membership to this society (BSCH) is open to those professionals who have acquired the requisite Clinical Training and professional training in the major aspects of hypnotherapy.
Associate Membership of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis - BSCH(Assoc) is open to LCCH students who have completed the Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy.
Full Membership is open to Associates who have completed the required full training within a four year period of passing the Diploma exam. The designation for full membership is MBSCH.
There is a formal Code of Conduct which all BSCH Members are required to sign. This ensures that the standards of ethics and professional practice are of the highest standing within the field of hypnotherapy.
Registered Clinical Hypnotherapist
The BSCH registration for Clinical Hypnotherapists is open to members of the BSCH who have attained a Fellow, Full or Associate member status. Once registered, members may refer to themselves as "Registered Clinical Hypnotherapist".
The BSCH operates through a patient referral system for registered members of the BSCH. This is to refer patients on to members registered with the BSCH.

Government Recognition of the BSCH and LCCH Clinical Hypnotherapists.
The Complementary & National Healthcare Council (CNHC) is the UK voluntary regulator for complementary healthcare practitioners established with the UK government. The CNHC's register has been approved as an Accredited Register by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care. This means CNHC has met the Professional Standards Authority’s demanding standards.
The CNHC provides a UK voluntary register of complementary therapists. All CNHC registered practitioners are entitled to use CNHC’s quality mark which demonstrates a commitment to professionalism and high standards.
CNHC has agreed that the BSCH may verify applications for CNHC registration. BSCH Asia chapter members to move to the UK may write to the BSCH secretary and request an application form to register with the CNHC.
